In a change to the previous event format I thought we’d have 2 speaking slots. One from an external notable, in this case Doug Ashby, followed by a shorter slot from someone in the group.
I’d like to give people in group the opportunity to share some ideas, experiences, or rally the group on subjects of common interest. Blatant sales pitches are out, this is about helping each other.
Our first such speaker is Ian Lockwood in his capacity as founder of working with Accelerate Nottingham. He will be talking to us about the work they are doing bringing commercial fibre connectivity to Nottingham and how we can all get involved in making it happen.
I’d also like to make this a call for future speakers at future events. I’m imagining a 10 min slot after the main speaker. I’d like to keep it brief and informal, not imagining PowerPoint for example (though if really want it I’ll see what I can organise), that way the speakers can be finished by seven thirty and the business of networking can continue.
