Give me a call with any queries.

Sorry for the last minute change but I guess we get to try out a different venue. Who knows we might like it.

Please let everyone know.

Are You Nottingham’s Most Promising Tech Startup?

I can finally announce the revised format for Nott Tuesday May on the 12th at Bluu in the Lace Market, Nottingham from 18:30.

We’re going to have a tech start-up pitch competition to find Nottingham’s Most Promising Tech Start-up

The format will be simple:

  • 5 startups
  • Maximum 2 minutes to pitch
  • 2-3 mins Q&A with judging panel
  • Judges retire to deliberate
  • Winner announced

The Panel

The panel will consist of 3 very different judges, each experts in their field and with intimate knowledge of what it takes a start-up to succeed.

Mike Butcher – editor of TechCrunch Europe, the most influential web site covering technology start-ups in Europe. If it’s been started-up then Mike has probably seen it, he’s the man to know in the tech start-up space.

Doug Ashby – to you Nott Tuesday regulars, Doug will need no introduction. He’s been there, started from scratch, redefined an industry and sold out for millions.

Duncan James – Head of Business Services at Nottingham legal firm Berryman. Duncan’s particular specialism is MBOs, MBIs, business sales and purchases.

The Pitch

The judges are going to want to hear about

  • Problem
  • Solution
  • Competitor  / Market
  • Team
  • What you are looking for

Keep it simple, punchy and to the point. If you can get your message across in less than 2 minutes then do.

The Prize

Adulation, pitch practice, testing your ideas against some of the finest minds in tech entrepreneurism.

I’m keen to hear from any companies who would like to sponsor any of the costs of running the evening, If someone can come up with some prizes then all the better: adam.bird@esendex.com.

How to enter

Email me adam.bird@esendex.com with a max one page pitch. I, along with a panel, will select the 5 to present on May 12th.

Get the word out

I now throw the gauntlet down to all of you to spread the net far and wide on this one. We’ve had 2 very successful meetups so far, tonight should be no exception.

Call, email, tweet, text everyone you know. This is a huge opportunity to show the world just what is happening in Nottingham.

Journalists, if you’re reading this then get in touch (adam.bird@esendex.com). This is a real story, happening now, no government initiatives, just the private sector getting on with business and making Nottingham a success.

See you there
