golfshake.com Named as Nottingham’s Best Technology Start-Up

Last night golfshake.com (www.golfshake.com) was named as Nottingham’s best technology start-up thanks mainly to the international scalability of the business.

The judges were particularly impressed by the pitch from golfshake.com’s Managing Director Darren Ramowski, in particular the user base that the company had already developed. The existing business model and revenue streams, as well as the growth potential proved to be the winning elements for golfshake.com.

We had a great night and to be voted as the best start-up just tops it off. It was exciting and a little bit nerve-wracking to pitch to such a knowledgeable panel and audience, so I’m glad they could see the value in what we are doing,”

said Darren Ramowski, Managing Director of golfshake.com.

The event was held at Bluu bar in Nottingham’s Lace Market and each company was given two minutes to pitch to the judges in front of an audience of some of the region’s most successful technology business men and women.

The competition was of a very high standard and all of the entries were great. Berryman works with a large number of Nottingham’s and the region’s technology companies, both established and start-up, so our involvement in Nott Tuesday is a logical development of this focus,

said Duncan James, Head of Business Services at Nottingham legal firm Berryman and one of the judges of the award.

Ramowski continued,

As Europe’s leading golf score tracking, handicap and community website we’ve seen tremendous growth over the last 12 months with golfers spreading the word to their playing partners. The next step for us is to further expand our user base and to help as many golfers as possible improve their game.

The judges were very impressed with the overall, high standard of the entries and a special commendation was given to Nik Le Page (http://twitter.com/niklp) who, at very short notice, pitched an interesting take on the issue of online profile management.

Honourable mentions also go to Aware Monitoring (www.awaremonitoring.com), a website monitoring firm; Buyers4Cars (www.buyers4cars.co.uk), a company that allows car buyers rather than sellers to advertise their requirements; and Simple Lifeforms (www.simplelifeforms.com) developers of exciting new social games.

  1. Just wondering if you’ve found a good plugin to show two pages of comments. I remember you mentioned something about it a couple months ago.
