Aware Monitoring to Sponsor Nott Tuesday November

aware_colour_sml

I’m really excited to announce that Nick Barker and Simon Oxley from Aware Monitoring have agreed to sponsor and present the Nott Tuesday event in November entitled What does the cloud mean for your business?’

Nick, CEO of Aware Monitoring, will be starting proceedings by launching the Aware Monitoring service. This is a service designed to solve some of the problems businesses can experience using the cloud so

Simon, CTO of Aware Monitoring, will be sharing is insight into the cloud, the technologies behind it and what the future holds. Simon’s career has seen him working on high profile public and private sector infrastructure projects for the NHS and Capital One. More recently he’s been applying this knowledge and using cloud services in anger to support to set up the Aware Monitoring service.

I will then lead a dynamic panel discussion driven by questions from the floor (so remember to bring a pen to write on the cards) exploring the topics raised.

I’m really pleased that Nick and Simon have decided to this. It really feels like Nott Tuesday is back on the rails.

Finally, to incentise you to all to spread the word, Aware Monitoring are buying a drink for anyone that brings along a Nott Tuesday newbie. So get out that contact book, start dialing, emailing and tweeting and let’s get as many people along to this one as possible.

November – What does the cloud mean for your business?

November 10th – 18:30 -20:30 @ Bluu (though may change this, but will update you all)

Topic: What does the cloud mean for your business?

Speaker: Nick Barker & Simon Oxley, CTO of Aware Monitoring

Panel Session: To discuss what has been raised

What is the cloud? Why is everyone talking about it? Is it secure? The choice of questions is yours.

At the moment the headline topic is chosen but that’s about it. Let me know via adam.bird@esendex.com or @adambird what you want to know/discuss. Use the hashtag #notttuesday so everyone can keep track.

This is a nice video explaining what the cloud is for starters:

I also need your ideas for speakers. Do you know someone that would be prepared to come and speak to us (reasonable expenses paid) about their views (positive or negative) about the cloud. Contact me via adam.bird@esendex.com or @adambird

CreativeNottingham Launch

Picked up an email from Susi O’Neill, a Nott Tuesday regular, about the launch of CreativeNottingham.

CreativeNottingham is a new blog set up to celebrate Nottingham’s creative, arts and digital business communities – or anything that promotes Nottingham’s status as a creative place.

As one of the founding editors, Susi has promised to write a guest post giving a more personal view on this initiative. My hope is she will also give us a few words at an upcoming Nott Tuesday.

All sectors need a focus and CreativeNottingham, driven by four accomplished writers and bloggers, looks like a great site.
